Kelly began her career in education in Southern California.  She worked at several schools and in several different teaching positions before moving to Central California to help serve the students of the Central Valley.  Over this time Kelly has served as a teacher, a new teacher BTSA mentor, a curriculum writer, department lead, outside consulting coach, mathematics consulting presenter, and technology trainer.

Kelly's current educational employment is in Porterville CA for Bartlett Middle school.  She is also working with the ACCESS team in conjunction with California GearUp to provide outside consulting coaching to math teachers and as a trainer/presenter.

For most of Kelly's teaching career she has focused on instructing middle school students in mathematics.  That is where her true passion lies and she frequently gets comments about how she is able to make difficult concepts easier to understand.  Throughout her career she has also tried to focus on how to bring mathematics to life.  Recently she was given the opportunity to create a STEAM class. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.  It is through this course that students are able to apply mathematics concepts to hands on items that they create.
